These Monday was my first real ToK lesson. What can I say? We had these text about how some proffesor tried to convince his student that God does not exist and the other student proved mentioned before proffesor that the way in which he was trying to justify his rights is wrong because following his method the proffesor brain did not existed.
To my way of thinking, proffesor was kind of ignorant assuming that God is bad because he created evil things. It's like you said that apple tree is bad because one of the apples had worms in it. Stupid. Anyway, I agree with the student that you shouldn't try to understand the world around you only with your senses. Also you should know that sometimes you don't need physical proof that something works. I'm not talking about religious faith because that can be personal to many people, I'm talking about things that you can't touch like mathematics. Why do we belive that pi is equal to 3.14....? I never had pi number of apples. I know that it exist but I don't really undersant it. How does it look? How you calculate pi? How ancient Babylonian people found it? I have no idea. I just blindly follow whatever my math textbook said because I have faith that it is true. From last lesson I learned that faith is important in ToK but I hope that I'll understand the topics that will be discussed. For now ToK does not look like it will be hard subject but I saw some posts that ToK is hell so I will have my fingers crossed that it only depends on the teacher.
I have no idea how many words should my post have. I will leave it the way it is and (maybe) change it next time.
